Overview

Mei dai Lamasery, built in 1606, was the official residence of a former Mongolian leader named Andahan of the Ming Dynasty. The total area of the temple is 40, 000 m2. It was named after installation of the Living Buddha Maidali. The murals is original, beautiful and preserved, which was reputed to be the “museum of murals” that provides great value of researching the history of modern art. In addition, Mei dai Lamasery is also great of value to study the history of Mongolian, Buddhism, and architecture in Ming dynasty.
